Nutan Vidyalaya Sevabhavi Education Societie’s, Late Babasaheb Deshmukh Gorthekar Mahavidyalaya is established in June 2001 with the aim of providing educational facilities to the student from rural area of Umri Taluka. The college has started Department of Economics in the same year. The department has shown continuous progress in Various academic as well as extra curricular activities right from its establishment. The department has effective internal co-coordinating and monitoring mechanism for implementation of policies regarding departmental activities, study tours, excursions and co-curricular activities. Our college is located in socially, economically and educationally backward area. Students are rural oriented and are not well-prepared. They are poor in reading, writing and thinking. They do not have expression abilities; it ultimately affects the academic performance and their interest in the subject like Economics. Hence, it is necessary to change the attitude of the rural students. Our main strength is highly qualified and experienced enthusiastic faculty which is actively engaged in research and are update in teaching learning skills. Apart from teaching schedule the faculty members gives parental care to the students.
